ZERO – Association for the Sustainability of the Earth System is born in the end of 2015, from the common interest of almost a hundred individuals, to make sustainable development in Portugal more tangible. ZERO fossil fuels, ZERO pollution, ZERO wasted resources, ZERO destruction of ecosystems and biodiversity and ZERO social and economic inequality are the goals the association aims to achieve. These goals are attained with several activities: following up public policies; encouraging public participation and citizen involvement through awareness campaigns, training and education; contributing towards diffusing scientific knowledge and collaborate on research projects; and, developing demonstrative projects of sustainability, which foster social involvement, through their own initiatives, or by cooperating with other institutes.
